Kimmer does not typically discuss work here, but the past week has been quite frustrating and I need to vent.

Normal circumstances state that our firm does very little litigation work within the borders of Alabama. We are usually the “Big Guns” that hire counsel in the local arena to do the tedious leg work within the local forum. We do the research and draft the documents and then send them off to the local counsel to make them fit within the parameters of the local court. It’s their job to get our work filed properly according to local rules. And every court is different! Every judge within every court is different! This time the tables have been turned. I am now the pleeb. And to make it even more aggravating, I work for the King of Anal Retention.

I admit I am a visual person. I learn by trial and error. It helps me to understand the inner workings of what does work and what does not. As long as I am allowed the time to learn the do’s and the don’ts I can come up with a solid and efficient game plan. Unfortunately, the King is more of a “call someone” kind of guy. I can’t stand that. His impatience and lack of confidence makes me want to overthrow the kingdom.

At least today I withheld mutiny, accomplished my goals and breathed a sigh of relief. A thank you would  have been nice, but the fact that I filed a dismissal makes it all seem kind of a waste of time anyway.
