I took on a task this evening that I am now regretting. Over the summer I had hit an estate sale and bought an outside christmas set for $25. It consists of a sleigh and five large reindeer. They are a sturdy set but have obviously been used several seasons. It appears that the previous owner, as the light strands burned out, simply added additional strands of lights on top of the broken ones and attached them with electrical tape. After nearly two hours and the use of scissors, a box cutter and a rose bush clipper, I removed about five strands of lights and a mountain of black electrical tape. My hands hurt.
Now, I have taken a break to contemplate the five reindeer that need the same treatment. What have I gotten myself into?
