I’ve be re-reading several old posts. I think I am pretty funny. I make myself laugh, anyway. And what could be more funny than a person who laughs at their own jokes?
While reading, I realize that I have been referring to my granddaughter as Scooter since she was a tyke. Believe me, she is no longer a Scooter. She is taller than most of us. She has the most beautiful length of red hair and bright blue eyes. And those freckles! Lord, help her Daddy! (Whose birthday is today! Happy Birthday Daddy!)
Scooter is now 11 years old and she loves cheerleading and beauty pageants. She is planning to participate in a new pageant next month. She sends me pictures of “potential” gowns and then her Mother sends me pictures of “appropriate” dresses. So, I have offered to tag along on the dress shopping trip, hopefully to keep the peace. I figure that is what a grandmother should be good for and, it keeps me involved in both of their lives, (whether they like it or not).
This is my beauty. Isn’t she stunning?
We have to thank Maria Payne for her fantastic photography. Ria has been Mommy’s very best friend for nearly 20 years and she is Scooter’s Auntie Ria. The pageant requires Head Shots to be submitted pre-pageant day for judging Miss Photogenic trophies. How cute. I think Auntie Ria did a fine job. Can’t wait for dress shopping day and Pageant Day. It’ll be an adventure! Should I change Scooter’s title to Pageant? Maybe just #MyGirl. Like sunshine on a cloudy day.
