Thursday I had to go downtown to file some documents with the Federal Court. I have NEVER been downtown and found a parking space within 6 blocks of any intended destination, until today. You can just imagine my sheer glee to find an open meter just one block from the courthouse! I am the world’s worst parallel parker, but the cars were even far enough apart that even I could manage to squeeze in without any collateral damage! This is amazing! Was God shining down on me today? I sat in the car for an extra joyful moment while I collected my papers and pretty much emptied out my purse (have you tried getting into a courthouse lately?)  I hop out, lock up and triumphantly march down the street. I accomplish my goal in record time and coast on back to my car. It’s not even raining! Could this day get any better? Then I realized, I did not put any actual coinage into the meter…DUH! (Thank goodness I got back before the evil Kushman discovered that I was expired or this post would have had quite a different tone)
