Even When No One Else Will

It’s a Cinderella Story

November 16th, 2009 · 1 Comment

It was Saturday morning and I am doing my usual morning routine. I’m flipping through the ad papers and making grocery lists and to-do lists, while sipping a nice cup of tea. My cell phone rings and Miss Britt tells me she has an appointment to go to David’s Bridal for wedding dress shopping that afternoon. Again, she fusses about how she cannot afford to go to the exclusive boutiques, she can only afford the chain stores. So I relay another one of my off-the-cuff stories:

I was just looking through the ad papers and you know how Ashley Furniture Stores claim to be the number one furniture store in the nation? They sell some pretty good stuff and it’s not cheaply made and the price reflects the name brand, right? Well guess what name brand furniture Big Lots is liquidating this week? A load of Ashley brand furniture is being liquidated at Big Lots for nearly one-third the original sales price. So if I go out and get an Ashley Brand sofa from Big Lots, does that make it any less the Ashley brand because I didn’t buy it from the Ashley store at the Ashley price?

It doesn’t matter what store the dress comes from, it matters how you feel when you try it on. You’ll know it when you know it.

Not more than an hour later, I received a text picture of “the one”.

Awwww… now I understand her Facebook comment. But I still think you should do a screen capture of it, so you can remember it forever. :)

Wanna pick me up an Ashley sofa?
