I’m here all week

This weekend was a busy one. Sari and her crew came in from Huntsvegas late on Friday night, while Hubby and I were at the Comedy Club. We saw Chris Tucker perform stand up. He’s not quite the laugh-until-you-can’t-breathe kind but he does tell some funny stories and he definitely works very hard every minute that he is on stage. I don’t know how he can do two shows a night with that much physicality! Whew!

Saturday morning we got everyone fed for breakfast, then Hubby and I took the Grandkiddies to the Alabama State Fair (this state fair is smaller than most county fairs or local carnivals) but at least it was a beautiful day! Scooter rode the bumper cars at least three times and I was impressed that after walking past twice, she finally decided she could do the Giant Slide all by herself. She was even talked into strapping on a harness (that worked like a giant rubber band) that sent her shooting up and down like a yo-yo. Scooter ate a cotton candy flavored snow cone and even got to ride a real live elephant!

Scout’s day was not quite as fun. He sat in a stroller and watched his big sister do all the fun stuff. He had to eat blueberry mush for dinner then his day was topped off by having to sit in the sink and get a bath. Poor guy. It’s not easy being 6 months old and his always “so serious” face reflects that. Then everyone put on their Bama gear and headed to the bar to watch the first game of the season. (Yes, there was a baby in a bar).

On Sunday we took Sari, her Hubby and Scooter out on the boat. (Yes, poor Scout had to stay home with the sitter.) We tooled around the lake and ate lunch at the marina outside under the willow tree. Another beautiful day! After getting back home, we got everyone fed dinner, packed and shipped off to head back home to Huntsvegas.

On Monday, I don’t have to tell you that Hubby and I did absolutely NOTHING! We were totally exhausted. Entertaining small people and trying to keep up with young people is getting harder and harder. It turns out that these Grandparents can not do two shows per night! Phew!
