I’ve noticed that Kate Gosselin (from Jon and Kate Plus 8, natch) has been on The Today Show repeatedly televising her impending divorce issues with the world. There she sits, perfect posture, feet planted firmly (with that crazy Woody Woodpecker meets Trixie from Lady and the Tramp hairdo), narrating the latest drama with Host, Meredith Viera.

Question: If you are the one taking the “high road” is it really considered taking the high road to announce that you are the one taking the high road?  I haven’t cleared that up mentally yet…

So, the newest dilemma for this poor, misguided gal, is that TLC may be developing a new show just for her. I can see it now…Kate’s Dates. The misadventures of an overbearing single mom (of 8) navigating the treacherous waters of the dating scene. We’ll see Kate jet set off to the Persian Gulf for a blind date with some Sheik or Crown Prince. Yes, he already has 3 wives and 16 children, so she and her crew will fit in quite easily. The climactic moment comes when she tries on her first burka and is mistaken for a Velociraptor.  Hilarity ensues as she is chased through the streets of Abu Dhabi by Steven Spielberg.

I guess it’s just not enough that we, the public, are constantly subject to her show and its endless barrage of commercials, the covers of tabloids, evening celebrity-tell-all shows and now morning news programs. We must have more, Kate! Tell us more about your financial woes, the 20-plus per day phone calls and text messages between you and your estranged and don’t forget to get a plug in there for us to stay tuned for next week’s show. I’m sure it will be titillating.

Newsflash Kate! Nearly 50% of the married couples in the United States go through divorce, at least once. It’s terrible. It’s heart wrenching. We get it. Been there, done that, got the vintage Van Halen T-shirt in the settlement.

Time to take that high road you’ve been touting.
