Kimmer’s holiday timing is all out of whack. I have had it in my head that “this week” is Thanksgiving Day. So every Saturday or Sunday for the month of November, I have been flustered that I am not prepared for turkey day. I get up on the weekends and make my lists for the day. I have to mail Thanksgiving Day cards, plan the menu, buy a turkey and all its trimmings, we need to do this or get that done. I am all discombobulated! (That’s a fun word to say. So is hominy. Try it 3 times. Hominy, hominy, hominy. Hee hee)
I think I have an idea of when this started. On Monday, November 3, I get into my car to drive to work like any other Monday and the radio station is purring with James Taylor’s Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. Ok that’s nice, I think. A little taste of what is to come and James Taylor is always a pleasant way to start any day. But then the next song is a Christmas one and the next… This radio station has become all Christmas all the time. 24/7 on Monday November 3!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY TOO EARLY!!!!!!!!!!!
Am I wrong?
For Pete’s sake I still have moldy pumpkins rotting on the front step!
Can we just have one damn holiday at time, please?
