I went to a four year old’s birthday party a few weeks ago. Let me just share with you a few tips.

1. Do not put a mask on a 4 year old and spin them around in circles. They cry.

2. Do not hand a 4 year old a stick and tell them to hit at a pinata. They hit each other. They cry.

3. Do not put small plastic toys inside of balloons and tell 4 year olds to sit on it. The popping sound of a balloon and small butts falling on hard plastic toys, makes them cry.

Fast forward to Scooter’s 4th birthday party. I do not take any credit for this, all I did was remember the candles for the cake. Sari planned the whole thing and I am sure spent a boat load as well.

We went to a place where the kids can run wild indoors! There were trampolines, uneven parallel bars, balance beams, slides, climbing towers, ball pits… They also had a parachute and bubble machines. These kids had so much fun! (the adults did too, I confess) And the topper of the whole day was that Sari had a girlfriend of hers rent a dress and come as Sleeping Beauty. What a hit! A good time was  had by all! And no crying at all!
